Richard Vogel is a German rider who started riding horses at the age of four, following in the footsteps of his family who have always had a strong passion for horses.

He began competing   at the age of seven.

 

Richard achieved his first international success in 2010 when he won the junior European championship in Malmö, Sweden, riding a horse named Lago Maggiore.

Since then, he has achieved numerous national and international successes in the discipline of show jumping.

 

In 2015, Richard moved to Ludger Beerbaum’s stable, one of the most famous and respected show jumping rider in the world.

He continued to have success in international competitions, winning the FEI World Cup Final in 2018 in Paris riding the horse named Ragna.

After that this fantastic rider won Chio Aachen U25 twice: in 2018 with Solitaer and in 2019 riding the 13-year-old Holstein-bred Lesson Peak.

 

Currently, Richard Vogel continues to compete internationally and represents Germany in various equestrian competitions. At the same time, he runs a business together with David Will and the two are based in Dagobertshausen – Nicola Pohl’s stable near Frankfurth.

 

He ends the 2022 with the win of CSI5* Longines Fei Jumping World Cup – western European League in Stuttgart with United Touch S and began the 2023 achieving the second place with Looping Luna in the CSI5* Leipzig FEI Longines Jumping World Cup. 2024, which began with his victory at the CSI5* GP in Wellington in February and was followed by other podium finishes, promises great things.

 

 

Among his recent successes, just to name a few, his win of the CSI4* aboard Cepano Baloubet and the one of the CSI5* with Accoton PS at WEF in Wellington February 2023.

He also won the U25 Hermes GP with looping Luna in march of the same year.

Richard’s philosophy of sport can be summarized by his motto “The more you work, the luckier you get”.

Overall, Richard’s philosophy emphasizes the importance of the qualities that a top rider needs perseverance, dedication, and a strong work ethic in achieving one’s goals, both in sports and in life.
