While Christian’s dream as a teenager was to become a professional footballer, life had different plans for him.
His parents’ love of horse riding led him to the top echelons of the sport.
The son of equestrian enthusiasts, he went along with his father to various competitions from a very young age, helping him with flatwork. This increased his fondness for equestrianism and show jumping in particular, and his riding talent was immediately evident.
After finishing his studies, Christian moved to Riesenbeck and joined the Beerbaum team.
Christian is brilliant when it comes to working with different types of horses. His tireless work ethic has earned him great success and a lot of respect among his peers.
Awarded the ‘Goldene Reitabzeichen’ in 2015 in Germany, he has had some memorable victories over the years.
His victories are unforgettable: the Ryhadh leg of the CSI5* Longines Fei World Cup in 2020; a silver medal at the European Championships in Riesenbeck in the Team Championships in 2021; his Grand Prix win in the Longines Global Tour in Rome in 2022 riding Mumbai, his resounding success with the Beerbaum stable in Prague 2022 at the Berlin Eagles and his Rolex GP CSI5* victory in the 2024 Wellington final on Checker 47.
Christian has reached one of the highest levels in this sport by winning the gold medal in the individual event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with Checker 47.
