Its fame is also due to its location: the event takes place in the picturesque Klein Flottbek park, which offers a unique setting for spectators and participants.

Every year, the Derby attracts thousands of spectators from all around the world and is followed by many other enthusiasts through streaming and social media. It is estimated that about 80,000 people attend the event each year, making it one of the most attended equestrian events in the world.

The competition has become famous for its most spectacular race, the Derby itself. Its difficulty and unpredictability, thanks to the challenging obstacle course and natural elements, make it unique in its kind. This event, considered a true test of the horses’ and their riders’ abilities, is also one of the most important social events in the Hanseatic city.

Among the winners of the Hamburg Derby are some of the world’s most famous equestrians such as Ludger Beerbaum, a historic Prestige ambassador. Last year’s edition saw our young ambassador Renaissance Cassandra Orschel conquered the top of the podium.
