Marco Kutscher

Born in 1975 in North Friesland, Marco Kutscher started riding thanks to the passion conveyed to him by his parents.

Important was the Stall Heckmann in Isterberg, where the Kutscher brothers used to train during their holidays. Here Marco completed his training, winning difficult competitions with Pikeur H.

From there he moved to the army sports school in Warendorf. Through Dirk Ahlmann, Kutscher then ended up in Riesenbeck. Ludger Beerbaum immediately recognised in this always cheerful but also thoughtful boy from North Friesland a highly talented rider, who had nothing to envy from other top riders.

Successes did not take long to come. The first great triumph came already in 2004. Marco took third place at the Athens Olympics with Montender – and won also the bronze in the team event.

In 2005 Marco showed in a sunny San Patrignano in the mountains of Rimini what he was really capable of: he became European double champion with Montender. Since then, Marco Kutscher has become a true leading figure and difficult to replace in the German national team.

Riding young horses is also a strength of Marco’s. The federal championship of the German jumping horse saw him become federal champion three times: in 2003, 2005 and 2007.. A bad adductor tear prevented him from participating in the 2006 World Championships in Aachen.

In 2010 he reached the second place in the overall ranking of the Global Champions Tour and in 2011 he won the gold medal at the European Championships in Madrid with the German team.

After many years with Beerbaum in July 2014, he and his partner Eva-Maria Bitter founded the Stall Kutscher-Bitter stable in Bad Essen, Germany.
