Alex Hua Tian

Alex Hua Tian is the first Chinese event rider in Olympic history and the youngest competitor in the history of the Eventing Olympics.

Born in London, he lived in Beijing and Hong Kong before returning to the United Kingdom.

In 2009, at the Blenheim International Horse Trials, Alex won the “Best under-25” award and qualified for the World Equestrian Games in Lexington in September 2010.

In November 2009, he won the inaugural “HSBC Rising Star Award,” presented to him in Copenhagen by Princess Haya, President of the International Equestrian Federation, during the “Equestrian Oscars.”

In 2014, he won a silver medal at the Asian Games in Incheon riding Temujin.

He then qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics with Don Geniro, where he finished in 8th place.

In 2018, he was the sole Chinese rider in the Olympic final and secured the bronze medal at the Asian Games in Jakarta riding PSH Convivial.

The following year, he was a member of the first Chinese eventing team to qualify for the 2020 Olympics.
